Slime welcomes back to the label UK producer Threnody. Already a well-established fixture on the bass music scene, his incendiary debut for the imprint last year saw it featured in many a set across the globe. For his sophomore effort he brings back the bass with one hundred tonnes of attitude.
‘Envy’ plays out on a spooked-out chord progression and snapping grime percussion. Sparse vocals amplify the vibes across a cavernous sub-bass and ethereal FX as proceedings build into a growling beast of a track.
‘Octopode’ mutates an orchestral string sample into a dancefloor monster, with descending chord structures strapped to the back of a rolling bassline and scattershot drums. A perfect soundtrack for the dead of night navigating dark streets in unknown territories.
